Dom Dwyer Forward South Florida Junior

Pros

Kicking Power: Dwyer has the kicking power to execute goals.

Durability: Durability has yet to be a concern for Dom Dwyer.

Size: Dwyer displays above average size at 5 foot 9 180 pounds.

Learning Rate: Dwyer played at Tyer Junior College in Texas for 2 years before transferring to South Florida.  Dwyer scored 16 goals and 34 points leading the Big East in both goals scored and points.  Dwyer went 41-0-1 in those 2 years at Tyer Junior College prior to transferring to South Florida for the 2011 Season.

Soccer IQ: Dwyer is a gym rat when it comes to digesting film.

Awareness: Dwyer displays great field vision when using his play recognition skills to determine shot selections.

Intangibles: I like the kicking accuracy that Dwyer displays when executing his shots.

Pinpoint Accuracy: Dwyer is one of the most accurate strikers when setting up his shots.

Shoots With Both Legs: Dwyer is a player that can shoot with both feet.  Dwyer can use either foot to set up his shot.

Production: Dom Dwyer had 16 goals and 34 points in one season at South Florida.

Potential: Dwyer is another player who has potential to make an early impact.

Cons

One Year Wonder: I am a huge fan of Dwyer.  Some MLS teams may look at Dwyer as a one year wonder because he played only one season at South Florida.

My Thoughts On Dom Dwyer

Dwyer is an outstanding striker.  I would not be afraid to spend a top 10 pick on Dwyer.  Some teams may not need a striker plus you got Casey Townsend, Chandler Hoffman, Sam Garza, and Dom Dwyer in this 4 way race to be the top striker selected after Darren Mattocks with Billy Schuler likely passing on Generation Adidas for a deal in Europe.
