Trevor Bayne’s Nationwide Hopes Take A Hit
Jared Tilton-US PRESSWIRE

The 2012 season has not been too kind to Trevor Bayne. In a season that has already given Bayne a few speed bumps along the way, last weekend at Texas Motor Speedway it was a big one.

Last Friday night Bayne did not race in the Nationwide race at Texas. Earlier in the season it was announced that there was no sponsorship for the No. 60 for a full season ride. Due to sponsorship trouble Bayne did not race and his title hopes hit a snag.

Earlier in the season Bayne came close to missing a race but a last minute sponsor came to the aid. Sponsorship troubles are really giving Bayne a hard season.

Currently Bayne sits in seventh in the standings, falling back three spots due to missing the Texas race. The set back puts him 67 points behind leader Elliott Sadler.

Bayne wasn’t the only one to take a hit in the points, car owner Jack Roush slipped in the owner standings. The No. 60 car fell back five spots to number 12, after being the 2011 owners champion.
