Small forward Tony Allen is such an interesting and integral character on the Memphis Grizzlies, and his defense in the playoffs is an essential ingredient for the team. He is the one who dubbed them the “grit and grind” team, and his defensive ability might be the best in the league. The only problem is that he cannot shoot at a high percentage, which tends to clog things up on offense.
Saw some fun news about Allen though on twitter; he live tweeted Disney on Ice, which is quite a creative way to interact with his fans. This is the part of social media that is really great, even though it can have its dangers at times. Many probably did not know Allen had any interest in ice skating, but there you go. You learn something new everyday, and shout out to Lang Whitaker whose material is always interesting.

THe Grizzlies are probably going to be on the outside looking in next postseason, because the West is going to be real tough to get out of. Preseason is a short time away folks, and then the regular season will be here sooner than we know it.
Who knows though, maybe Allen can ice skate his way all the way to the finals.
