Metta World Peace Blog: Metta World Food Experience
I would like to start a tasting experience called Metta World Food that debunks all the myths about global foods. It’ll be like the show Mythbusters but for your taste buds!
I am looking forward to trying authentic Sichuan food and comparing it to the American version of Sichuan food. There are eight provinces in China, and each province has it’s own unique culinary characteristics. I’m also hoping to learn about new foods and herbs that have medicinal properties.
There is a grocery store near my house that has become my favorite place to shop. I was surprised to learn that the kiwi fruit grows in the region of Sichuan and is widely available. I would eat kiwi almost every day in the US, it has a lot of vitamin C and zinc, which promotes a healthy immune system. It is especially vital to consume as a cure for jet lag or before a game to give you energy.
