Andre Roberson may not be the highest rated prospect in the 2013 NBA Draft, but he is still definitely up there. He was great for the Colorado Buffaloes and he can definitely make an instant impact at the next level.
Who knows how effective Roberson will be on the offensive side of the ball, but his defense and rebounding abilities can earn him plenty of minutes with any team in the league right off of the bat.
Roberson averaged 11.3 rebounds per game this season, which was good enough for second best in college basketball during the regular season. The top dog in rebounds per game grabbed 11.4 rebounds per game, so Roberson clearly barely trailed him. With that said, it could easily be argued that he is the best rebounder entering the draft.
Whichever team decides to draft him would love that factor alone. Add in the 2.2 steals per game and 1.3 blocks per game and you have a very impressive player on the defensive side of the ball, however, those two statistics do not do justice on how much of an impact Roberson had on the defensive side of the ball for Colorado.
Roberson shot 48 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from behind the arc in his junior year. With more work, both of these numbers could go up in the pros. Roberson does have to get better at the free throw line though.
With a 6’7” stature and a great defensive game to boot, Roberson could make an instant impact for whichever team decides to draft him.
