Joe Jackson and the Memphis Tigers are coming off of a great year. However, expect Jackson to take his talents to the next level in the 2013-14 college basketball season.

Jackson led the team in scoring last year with 13.6 points per game. He was also the lead assist man at 4.8 assists per game. What was really impressive about his game, though, was the fact that he shot 51.9 percent from the field and 44.7 percent from behind the arc. Those are big boy numbers right there and if Jackson can duplicate that in the upcoming season, the Tigers could very well be one of the best teams in the nation.

If Jackson takes more attempts, he will also score a lot more points.

There is no telling how good he will be in the 2013-14 season, but he will play the biggest role for Memphis, since he is the field general and the team’s best player.

There will be plenty of talent around Jackson and it helps that the Tigers will have one of the bets backcourts in the nation. Winning 31 games last season is just the beginning for this Memphis team because it will be capable of winning an AAC title as well as a national championship.

The competition will be much tougher in the upcoming season, though, thanks to the team joining a new conference. However, Josh Pastner is a great coach and he has a great team to back him up.

In the meantime, people can expect Jackson to take his game to the next level.
