Pittsburgh Panthers Should Have No More Than One Loss Before Conferene Play

The Pittsburgh Panthers have the talent to go undefeated in their non-conference schedule in the upcoming season. It also helps that they will have a very easy out-of-conference schedule.

The only tough team of note that Pittsburgh will play in the 2013-14 season is the Cincinnati Bearcats. That game will not be played until Dec. 17, so Pittsburgh has the potential to go 9-0 before that game. If that is in fact the case, this team should have a lot of momentum going for it.

Who knows who will win the contest between the Panthers and the Bearcats, but it should be a pretty good matchup regardless. Whether the case, Pittsburgh should only lose one game before Big East play. That one game is against Cincinnati.

I can’t blame Pitt for having such an easy non-conference schedule because it will be joining the ACC in the upcoming season and it will have plenty of opportunities to get some big wins as a result.

Pittsburgh would have to slip up to lose to someone other than Cincy in its out-of-conference schedule. No offense to the other teams that it will be facing, but this is the Panthers we are talking about. They made the NCAA tournament last season as a No. 8 seed.

The team will be losing its leading scorer, but enough talent will be back for Pittsburgh to dance once again.

Although the Panthers should have no more than one loss before conference play begins, upsets do tend to happen from time to time in college hoops, so we will just have to wait and see if that will actually be the case.
