The Ohio State Buckeyes spent more than $4 million during their trips for the College Football Playoff.
In total, according to a report from CBS Sports, the Buckeyes spent a whopping $4.4 million while the national runner-up Oregon Ducks shelled out $3.8 million for their journey to the title game.
Despite spending more than $3.5 million a piece, neither team spent more on a single trip than the Alabama Crimson Tide, who spent $2.6 million for their trip to the Sugar Bowl — which was a loss to Ohio State.
Alabama paid for 908 people — 197 more than any other team — to make the trip.
The good news for all of the teams involved? The College Football Playoff committee pays out a large sum to each of the Power Five conferences and their programs pulled in plenty of revenue throughout the season to make up for the costs.
For those wondering, the Florida State Seminoles spent the least amount of money on their trip with just over $2.3 million.
A full breakdown of the expenses by game and by university can be seen below.
