The New York Giants have not announced the status’ of their starting two wide receivers Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham—both remain game-time decisions.

According to team sources the Giants used a cold and compression machine on Manningham’s knee on the flight to San Francisco in order to bring the swelling down.

Nicks has always been questionable but the feeling from most is that he’ll play pending any set backs in warm ups. Judging by the precaution taken on the plane, I can’t say the same for Manningham.

The Manningham situation is annoying considering he practiced fully all week; the wide receiver woke up with swelling in his knee on Saturday morning.

The Giants will need both today—the 49ers have allowed just 118 points in eight games this season, best in the NFL.
