Douglas Jones-US PRESSWIRE

The preseason game that has the most intrigue for the New York Giants every year is the game with the New York Jets. Usually its week three, the game that actually means the most in the preseason, because your starters play the most. This year though, its week two, so the starters will probably play about a quarter or maybe a half.

Going into last year’s regular season game, both teams needed a victory to increase their chances of making the playoffs. There was a lot of chatter going back and forth between each team leading up to the games, especially between the Jets corners and the Giants receivers. This year, with the added Tim Tebow element to the preseason game, there could be even more right? Right? Wrong.

“We don’t get caught up with the Tebow-manias of the world,” Tuck said. “I guess would be the right phrase. We worry about what goes on at Giants camp.”

The Giants are looking about this the right way. They only really need to worry about themselves. There’s no reason for the Giants to really care one way or another about what the Jets do. They need to prepare themselves for the season. If they lose the game, it doesn’t really matter in the grand scale of the season.

The games against the Dallas Cowboys will mean a lot more to this team, then what happens coming out of this game. I applaud the Giants for going about this game the right way.
