After a few of players were injured last week against the New England Patriots, especially a couple of defensive backs, the New York Jets have made a couple of minor roster moves heading into their Week 6 game against the Miami Dolphins.

Cornerbacks Donald Strickland and Isaiah Trufant left the game with injuries last week, and neither are likely to play Monday night.

Strickland suffered a head injury and a possible concussion, so the Jets will probably play it safe with him and hold him out for a week, at least.

Trufant suffered a rather serious hamstring injury and has already been ruled out. His timetable to return is not yet known.

To reinforce their depth in the defensive backfield, the Jets signed cornerback Ellis Lankster to the 53-man active roster. The team also signed defensive back Tracy Wilson to the practice squad.

Defensive lineman Ropati Pitoitua hurt his knee last week, so fellow defensive lineman Martin Tevaseu had been added to the active roster in case Pitoitua can’t go.

After the trade of Derrick Mason to the Houston Texans, rookie wide receiver Jeremy Kerley will assume a lot of slot receiver duties, with special teamer Patrick Turner now elevated to the number four receiver spot.

Undrafted rookie Michael Campbell is back on the practice squad just in case, although it appears the Jets are relatively comfortable with their wide receiver depth at the moment.
