According to ESPN insider, Adam Schefter, the New York Jets will receive a seventh-round pick from the Houston Texans if wide receiver Derrick Mason meets certain parameters.

Per Twitter, Schefter states that the Jets would receive the Texans seventh-round pick if Mason has 33 receptions, he does not get 33 catches then they get nothing.

Jets traded Derrick Mason for an If pick. If Mason catches 33 or more passes for Texans, Jets get a 7. If he doesn't, they get nothing.

The 37-year old Mason has a total of 13 catches for 115 yards and no touchdowns from his time with the Jets.

With All-Pro wideout Andre Johnson out another 1-2 weeks, the Jets had better hope that Mason morphs into the next Jerry Rice over the next two weeks, or risk giving away a quality veteran basically for free.
