Clinton Portis still weeks away from returning to Redskins

Washington Redskins RB Clinton Portis, who has been suffering from a third-degree muscle separation in his left groin, is still a couple of weeks away from even testing his leg. Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan told reporters on Wednesday, “It’s going to be for sure, a couple of weeks. It takes some time. With a third-degree separation, you don’t want to push it too hard. We just kind of have to wait and see. To me, it’s a minimum of two weeks before he’s able to even push it”. Ryan Torain has filled in nicely for the Washington Redskins in Clinton Portis’ absence, recording back to back 100 yard games the last two weeks.
