New York Jets Not Interested in Chad Ochocinco

By Dan Parzych

After just one season, the New England Patriots parted ways with Chad Ochocinco on Thursday–leaving everyone wondering whether or not the wide receiver will end up on a new team before the 2012 season. While there are a few teams that will most likely consider taking the risk on the Ocho, there’s officially one team that No. 85 can cross off his list of possible destinations–the New York Jets.

The Jets expressed no interest in bringing Ochocinco on board as they feel comfortable enough with their current set of wide receivers for the 2012 season. New York has established a reputation over the last couple of years for bringing on numerous veterans to help the “win now” approach, but the team apparently has no plans on bringing the wideout on board for the upcoming season.

The Jets are already one of the most popular teams in the NFL when it comes to media coverage, one can only imagine how much crazier things would have been in New York if Ochocinco came on board considering he’s never been shy when it comes to being the center of attention. In my mind, Ochocinco will find a team eventually, but it will take a serious injury at the wide receiver position before a team strongly considers bringing him on board.

Until then, at least Ochocinco can focus on finding a wedding venue for his upcoming reality show.
