Spike Lee Defends Colin Kaepernick, Calls NFL Teams' Reluctance to Sign QB 'Fishy'

Since Colin Kaepernick opted out of his deal with the San Francisco 49ers, the rush to sign a QB who had a team on the doorstep of a Super Bowl title has been, well, nonexistent.

And now a celebrity is coming to the defense of the NFL QB and calling out every team in the process.

Just Had Brunch With My Brother Colin @Kaepernick7 . How Is It That There Are 32 NFL Teams And Kap Is Still A Free Agent? WTF. Smells MAD Fishy To Me,Stinks To The High Heavens. The New York J-E-T-S Need A Quarterback. Who Is The J-E-T-S Quarterback? Is My Man Joe Willie Namath Coming Back? Crazy Times We Live In. The Question Remains What Owner And GM Is Going To Step Up And Sign Colin So Their Team Has A Better Chance To WIN? What Crime Has Colin Committed? Look At The QB’s Of All 32 Teams. This Is Some Straight Up Shenanigans,Subterfuge, Skullduggery And BS. Ya-Dig? Sho-Nuff. By Any Means Necessary. And Dat’s Da NoFunLeague Truth,Ruth.

A divisive figure when it comes to race, Spike Lee is probably not the best representation for a guy still searching for a job this offseason.

While Lee’s New York Jets could use some quarterback help, the team has been more closely linked to Jay Cutler than any other current free agent.

Whether Kaepernick’s kneeling or standing for the National Anthem in 2017 doesn’t seem to matter to league general managers.
