Accidents happen in the NFL, but when the player is Detroit Lions‘ DL Ndamukong Suh it’s hard to give him the benefit of the doubt. Early in the game on between the Lions and Houston Texans, Suh landed a shot to the groin area of QB Matt Schaub. The kick was not flagged, but the speed and accuracy of the whip kick looked a little intentional to this writer.

Suh has had his problems including a two-game suspension last season for an intentional stomp. The team made him go through anger management classes, and for good reason. He has been fined for unnecessary roughness on multiple occasions throughout his young NFL career.

Suh has been voted the NFL’s dirtiest player two years in a row, and by the looks of it, he wants a three peat. Players in the NFL should be protecting each other from injury when ever possible. Nobody should ever wish harm to any player, but if Suh ever goes down with a serious injury, I don’t expect too much empathy from the players that surround him. Karma will eventually catch up with the player and it’s going to cost his team dearly.

The kick to Schaub could have been an honest mistake, but that’s highly unlikely. As a man, Suh would not enjoy being kicked in the area in question – he should avoid doing the same to others. He is a player that keeps his motor running long after the play ends and under the new rules, his pocket book is going to get lighter as he continues to deal with his anger problems.

The Detroit Lions are probably the best team in football with their record, but they are still a long shot to make the playoffs. The Lions will need Suh down the stretch if they want a chance. That means he has to stop making stupid decisions.
