The Detroit Lions host the Chicago Bears in the second NFC North clash for both teams on the young 2013 NFL season. Jay Cutler leads the surprisingly undefeated Bears on the road to the dome, while Reggie Bush returns from a one-week layoff to help the Lions attempt to get to 3-1 on the season.
This one has all the makings of a shootout, as Bush is back in the offense and the Lions have put up at least 27 points in two of their first three contests, while Chicago’s offensive efficiency is at an all-time high. The key here is that both teams will be able to show just how much speed kills, as they’ll be able to run wild on Detroit’s turf indoors.
With that said, Chicago has put it’s feisty defense on display several times through the first three weeks, as they’ve given up some yardage and points, but haven’t been shy about forcing turnovers and getting touchdown returns. Detroit’s defense has been creating buzz, as well, as they’ve been solid against the run for the most part and played a helping hand in two early season victories.
Despite the hype of the divisional and offensive showdown, as well as all the big names, this is one of the more surprisingly cheaper NFL match-ups in week four. This week’s NFC North clash comes in at a dirt cheap $129 on average with a get-in of just $47. That’s actually only 7% below the average price of Lions tickets at home in 2013 ($138), too, showing you just how much of a deal Lions fans can get used to during the season.
While it’s an exceptional deal, it doesn’t make much sense, as this game will decide who will rest atop the NFC North after four weeks. A Bears win gives Chicago a commanding 4-0 mark and a full two game lead over the rest of the division, while a Lions win would give the NFC North two 3-1 squads, with the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings barely hanging on at 1-2 and 0-3, respectively.
