The Houston Texans are in the midst of one of the ugliest streaks of poor play in recent memory. Quarterback Matt Schaub has had one of the worst strings of luck this season, throwing a pick-six in an NFL record four straight games and then suffering an ankle injury that could leave him on the bench for quite some time. T.J. Yates then proceeded to fill in for Schaub after his injury in week six and throw yet another interception for a touchdown — the fifth-straight game the Texans have done so. Houston’s pass game hasn’t been terrible as it ranks 14th in the league with Andre Johnson being a main contributor with 44 catches for 495 yards but no scores. DeAndre Hopkins has been a rookie sensation, catching 25 passes for 340 yards and a touchdown. Arian Foster has been solid as usual, rushing for 531 yards and a score while catching 22 passes out of the backfield for 183 yards and a score.

On the other side of the field, the Kansas City Chiefs have been one of the best teams in the league this year. In fact, the Chiefs are just one of two undefeated teams left in the league through six weeks at 6-0. The Chiefs have seen such a turnaround because of their stellar defense, but also the fact that they finally have a solid quarterback that can lead this team for the foreseeable future. Smith has come in and become an instant leader, passing for 1,330 yards and seven touchdowns on the year, connecting with Donnie Avery 18 times for a team-high 310 yards and a touchdown. However, Jamaal Charles has been the top contributor to the offense, rushing for 475 yards and five touchdowns while catching 33 passes for 300 yards and two scores.

Defensively, the Chiefs have one of the best defenses in the league and that is evidenced by their high number of sacks. Kansas City are the top-scoring defense in the league while allowing the fifth-least amount of yards per game in the league. Houston ranks first in yards allowed per game, making it the top defense in the NFL. However, they Texans have struggled to keep teams out of the endzone, ranking 28th in points allowed per game.
