Green Bay Packers: Jarrett Boykin Will Have Rebound Performance

So far this season, my pick to click for the Green Bay Packers has been subpar. Last week, I put the jinx on wide receiver James Jones. I predicted him to have a big game but Jones ended up getting hurt and will probably be out for some time. However, I feel that this week’s pick may be able to prove me right.

I expect wide receiver Jarrett Boykin to have a rebound game for the Packers and step up as a replacement for Jones and Randall Cobb.

Last week, Boykin struggled and had a case of the drops. He did have one big play on a short bubble screen but in all, he struggled. This week, he will be going up against a good Cleveland Browns defense so the matchup is believed to be a poor one for Boykin. I think not.

The Browns defense is one who relies on physicality and getting after the quarterback and has a fantastic cornerback in Joe Haden. The Packers offensive line has been very good as of late so I expect them to be able to protect Aaron Rodgers and I expect much of the defense to be zoned in on Jordy Nelson and Jermichael Finley. With the defense locked in on Nelson and Finley, there will be a lot of open room and opportunities for Boykin to step up and prove he can be a reliable receiver.

Don’t expect Boykin to have a Calvin Johnson type of game but I do expect some pretty decent numbers from the second-year man out of Virginia Tech.

Here are my projections for Boykin: five catches, 55 yards, one TD
