Losing their last seven games, the Houston Texans are searching for answers and they might come from wide out Andre Johnson and young quarterback Case Keenum. While they are just 2-7 on the year, the Texans still have loads of talent on the roster, even after releasing Ed Reed. Keenum took over just a few weeks ago for Matt Schaub and has passed for 822 yards and seven touchdowns with no interceptions, evolving into a true NFL quarterback. Johnson has broken out in recent games at the wide out position, catching 62 passes for 850 yards and five touchdowns on the season. The two have become a dynamic duo and all five of Johnson’s touchdowns have come from Keenum. Arian Foster may be out for the remainder of the year at running back, giving way to Ben Tate who has 455 yards and a touchdown on the season.
The Oakland Raiders began the season off stronger than most people believed they would with Terrelle Pryor at quarterback, but have since lost three of four games to drop to 3-6 on the season. Pryor has been solid this season, however, passing for 1,559 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for another 504 yards and two touchdowns — talk about a solid fantasy quarterback. He has taken over this team in his first year as the starter and played well enough to keep the job. Denarius Moore loves Pryor at quarterback as he is the team’s leading receiver with 35 catches for 558 yards and four touchdowns. Darren McFadden has struggled to stay healthy at running back, rushing for just 352 yards and four touchdowns to go along with a passing touchdown on a trick play.
Defensively, the Raiders rank seventh in the league in stopping the run, but the passing defense isn’t as solid, ranking 22nd in the league, allowing nearly 250 yards per game through the air. On the other hand, the Texans have the No. 1 passing defense in football, but have a hard time keeping teams out of the endzone, ranking 28th in points allowed per game with nearly 30.
PREDICTION: Raiders 17, Texans 27
