After a strong start to the season, the Denver Broncos look like everyone’s favorite to make it to the Super Bowl from the AFC. Taking down the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs a week ago helped that notion as the Broncos improved to 9-1 on the season. Peyton Manning continues to pass at an MVP and record-breaking pace, racking up 3,572 yards and 34 touchdowns for the top passing offense in the league. Demaryius Thomas continues to lead all receivers with 914 yards and nine touchdowns on 60 catches while Decker has 792 yards and two scores. Wes Welker has accounted for 61 catches for 648 yards and nine scores while tight end Julius Thomas has 590 yards and 10 touchdowns. Knowshon Moreno leads all rushers with 600 yards rushing and eight scores.
This should be a mammoth matchup as the New England Patriots are 7-3 and looking for revenge after falling in controversial manner on Monday night to the Carolina Panthers. Tom Brady hasn’t had his best season, but his 2,552 yards and 14 touchdowns have been enough to put the Patriots in first place in the AFC East. Brady is glad to have tight end Rob Gronkowski back as the big target has caught 24 passes for 343 yards and two touchdowns while Julian Edelman still leads the team in receiving with 500 yards and two touchdowns on 52 catches. Stevan Ridley leads the rushing attack with 562 yards and seven touchdowns.
Defensively, the Broncos have been anything but solid this season. Denver ranks 23rd in both points and total yards allowed per game while ranking 28th in passing yards allowed per game. New England ranks seventh in points allowed per game, but have struggled in the other departments, ranking 20th in total yards allowed and 27th in rushing yards allowed per game.
PREDICTION: Broncos 34, Patriots 31
