The Washington Redskins spent an evening on football's biggest stage and came out smelling like a toilet bowl, but they are still not mathematically eliminated from the playoffs quite yet. However, it is looking like they are going to reside in the NFC East's cellar for all of Jay Gruden's tenure as head coach. Here are five other things we learned about D.C. during Monday Night Football.

Robert Griffin III was seen on the sideline in street clothes singing along with the National Anthem, and there might be a career in that for him somewhere. If football does not work out, it is always good to have a backup plan.

We all saw what Eli Manning did to the Redskins' secondary. Russell Wilson had a similar field day, and it became quite obvious as the game went on that D.C. is not going to win enough games to remain playoff eligible. RGIII will be facing an uphill battle once he returns from injury.

The 'Skins have so many issues that this slide could go on forever. The Washington Nationals entered the MLB postseason as favorites to win the World Series, but they are one game from elimination at the San Francisco Giants' hands. The Wizards, meanwhile, added Paul Pierce to a team full of young legs and should advance further in the playoffs than last season.

DeSean Jackson and Richard Sherman have known each other since back in the day, but it was the wide receiver who made a huge play to close out the first half. Something tells me Sherman did not talk any smack to Jackson after that point.
