Fresh off their first home loss to the St. Louis Rams since 1991, the San Francisco 49ers are now 4-4 and officially reeling. Here are five things we learned about the 49ers' loss to the Rams in Week 9.

The 49ers have the NFL's 21st-ranked pass attack and the 11th-ranked run offense, which isn't all that bad. However, the 49ers have only scored a TD on 43.5 percent of their red zone attempts, which is dismal enough to make them the league's third-worst team in terms of red zone efficiency.

Greg Roman, you are the weakest link. Goodbye.

In the first half, the Rams sacked Colin Kaepernick six times, which matched their entire season total coming in. They added two more sacks in the second half, and all of a sudden, the 49ers' offensive line is one of the worst in football.

Kaepernick may not have the talent of an Aaron Rodgers or a Tom Brady, but he's getting paid more than both, so he could at the very least try to lead like those QBs. Instead, he complains that he crossed the goal line and that his fumble should've been a TD. Yet, if he didn't drop the ball, the referee wouldn't be in a position to make a bad call.

A leader is accountable for their actions, and it's time for Kaepernick to lead.

In a loss to the worst team in the NFC West, Chris Borland was the 49ers' only bright spot. He collected 18 tackles (15 solo, three for a loss) and earned himself more playing time while Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman sit out with injuries.

Coming into the Week 9 matchup with the Rams, the 49ers had some control over their season. However, with the loss combined with wins by the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks, the 49ers need help.

Now three games back of the Cardinals, not only do the 49ers have to win at least six of their remaining games, but they need the Cardinals and Seahawks to start losing. Otherwise, the 49ers will be watching the NFL Playoffs from a beach.
