Week 16 Matchup: Minnesota Vikings (6-8) vs. Miami Dolphins (7-7)
TV Schedule: Sunday, Dec. 21, 1:00 p.m. ET, FOX
Stadium: Sun Life Stadium
Line: Miami (-7)
Although the Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins aren’t necessarily Super Bowl contenders, both teams have had relatively good seasons. They will also be taking the field against one another in Week 16.
For Minnesota, a 6-8 record at this point in the season isn’t bad. The team didn’t enter the year with high expectations, and it has also been without Adrian Peterson. The team was on a two-game winning streak, but came up short against the Detroit Lions in Week 15. Needless to say, finishing 2014 with an 8-8 record should definitely be looked at as a successful season. If that happens, that is.
To no one’s surprise, the Dolphins were blown out by the New England Patriots last week. However, they have a very manageable game this week, and that is especially true in Week 17 against the New York Jets. Miami will also have the pleasure of playing both contests at home.
Both teams are certainly capable of winning this ballgame and although the Dolphins will be at home, I am predicting the Vikings to come away with the W. They almost knocked off Detroit on the road in Week 15, and are certainly capable of beating Miami on the road. It doesn’t help the Dolphins’ cause that they have lost four of six.
PREDICTION: Vikings 23, Dolphins 14
