Predicting 5 Players the Kansas City Chiefs Will Sign In NFL Free Agency

The Kansas City Chiefs don't have a ton of cap space as of now, but the team has multiple large contracts that could get the axe in the near future. With that in mind, here are five free agent signing predictions for KC in 2015.

The Chiefs have to attack the offensive line hard in free agency. Orlando Franklin spent three years as a starting tackle before becoming a guard last season. He's done a great job protecting Peyton Manning in Denver, and the Chiefs would love his versatility. Franklin will cost Kansas City, but also be a hefty boost to their biggest need.

Speaking of former Broncos, Ryan Harris signed a one-year deal with the Chiefs prior to the 2014 season, and he was a pleasant surprise as one of the team's few serviceable offensive lineman. KC probably won't be able to afford re-signing Rondey Hudson (who wants to be the NFL's highest paid center), but the front office should be able to squeeze Harris into the budget.

No team loves former San Francisco 49ers quite like the Chiefs. There aren't a lot of receivers who would see a stat boost with Alex Smith, but MichaelCrabtree had a better rapport with Smith than Colin Kaepernick. If the Chiefs cut Dwayne Bowe, a Crabtree-Smith reunion makes perfect sense.

2. DB Ron Parker

Ron Parker didn't perform very well at cornerback last season, but he found his niche filling in for Eric Berry at strong safety. He performed well enough to command a significant raise, and the Chiefs would be wise to give it to him.

The Chiefs had serious troubles stopping the run last season. The return of Derrick Johnson will help with that, but in a 3-4 scheme, KC will need another quality inside linebacker. Brandon Spikes is a run-stuffing specialist who could help bring the Chiefs' defense to the next level in 2015.
