In just a few days NFL free agency is set to begin, and with the Philadelphia Eagles possessing over $ 50 million in cap space, they are sure to be big players in the market. After their most recent set of moves, the Eagles find themselves with arguably more holes to fix than when last season originally ended. If the Eagles hope to not have a repeat of the 2011 “Dream Team” offseason, then here are five players they must avoid.

Heading into the offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles certainly have a need at the wide receiver position. Whether or not Jeremy Maclin re-signs with the team will determine just how big this need actually is. After catching a career-high 11 touchdowns last season, former Baltimore Raven Torrey Smith could be of interest for the Eagles, but if they were smart the only 6-foot wide receiver they should be interested in is Maclin.

Last season, the downfall of the Eagles was the atrocious play of their secondary. With three-quarters of last year’s starting secondary now gone, the Eagles will likely address this problem in free agency. Yes any safety should play better than Nate Allen did last season, but the Eagles shouldn't just sign anyone. When looking for potential replacements, the Eagles should avoid Louis Delmas who suffered an ACL injury a year ago.

3. Reggie Bush - Running Back

This past Tuesday, the Eagles shocked the football world by trading arguably their best player in running back LeSean McCoy. With only Darren Sproles and Chris Polk currently on the roster, the Eagles could look to sign another running back in free agency. Even though he rushed for over 1,000 yards last season, Chip Kelly and the Eagles need to avoid Reggie Bush, as he just brings a similar skill set to the table as Sproles.

Rumors may be swirling about who will be the starting quarterback next season, but the Eagles also need to be concerned with who their backup will also be next season. With last year’s backup Mark Sanchez currently a free agent, the Eagles have been linked to former Titans quarterback Jake Locker. However, with him having a history with injuries, Locker as the backup means that the Eagles could be only one play away from playing Matt Barkley.

If the Eagles are looking to replace running back LeSean McCoy via free agency, then former Heisman trophy winner Mark Ingram could be an option since he runs north and south as opposed to east and west like McCoy. However, the Eagles should be cautious when looking at Ingram since last year, his contract year, was the only year in which he found sustained success.
