As is normally the case around Valley Ranch this time of year, there is plenty of buzz and controversy surrounding the Dallas Cowboys as we get closer to the start of training camp. There are questions over who will win certain starting positions, who will get cut by the end of camp and who will be available at the start of the season. So with that in mind, let’s a look at the top five rumors heading into training camp.

This is quickly becoming more of a reality as the June 1 deadline to get a long-term deal done approaches. Having him play on the tag was probably the team’s plan all along but concerns over having some sort of off-the-field monitoring system in place for Bryant continues to be the main barrier between the two sides. Hopefully this doesn’t become too big of a distraction for the team during camp or the season.

The coaches and the scouts like his instincts when the ball is in the air, and Jones is a player who is known for attacking the ball. His playmaking ability and knack for creating turnovers will give him the edge over Brandon Carr, who may be moved to the slot position this year.

Now that the Cowboys have Byron Jones, Brandon Carr, Orlando Scandrick, Tyler Patmon and Corey White on their roster, Claiborne is an expendable option at the cornerback position. His multiple injuries and poor play to this point of his career will have the Cowboys looking to trade the former first-round draft pick in hopes of getting something in return for this disappointing bust.

The Cowboys already have five solid starters on what is now considered to be the most dominant offensive line in the league, but they have also just recently added a player who was supposed to be a first-round pick in Collins to their team. His ceiling is much higher than that of Ronald Leary, so expect him to come in and take over the starting right guard position from the day that training actually starts in Oxnard.

1. Joseph Randle Wins Starting Running Back Position

Everyone assumes that Darren McFadden will be the main guy getting the bulk of the carries this year, but those same people don’t realize that Randle has progressed as a player each year he’s been in the league. He's also been in this offense for a longer period of time and isn’t as injury-prone as McFadden. So, look for Randle to grasp the opportunity that lies in front of him and win the starting running back position this training camp.
