5 Dallas Cowboys Who Won't Make It Through 2015 OTAs

The Dallas Cowboys have finished up their rookie minicamp and next up will be the organized team activities or OTAs for short. Dallas will have three OTAs between May 26 and June 10. While almost every player will be there for the start of OTAs, not every player will still be part of the team at the end of them. Here are five players who will not be on the roster come June 10.

The Cowboys Currently have 11 receivers on their roster. They will likely only have six when the regular season begins, so they are going to cut at least a couple during OTAs. Nick Harwell is an undersized slot WR, and unfortunately for him, Cole Beasley has that position locked down. That means his tenure in Dallas will be short lived.

The most intriguing competition in Dallas will be at running back. Dallas will have four RBs competing for playing time. Those four will be Darren McFadden, Joseph Randle, Ryan Williams and Lance Dunbar. Unfortunately for Synjyn Davis, he is the fifth guy, which likely means he will be looking for a new team in a few weeks.

The tight end position is a crowded one in Dallas, and Jon Davis isn't likely to move very far up the depth chart. Jason Witten, Gavin Escobar and James Hanna are locks for the roster. Unless Davis is extremely impressive during the OTAs, he won't be on the team when they go to training camp in July.

2. Brandon Carr, CB

Brandon Carr has been inconsistent during his time in Dallas. He hasn't played up to his $ 50 million contract, and for that reason the Cowboys want him to take a pay cut. Carr has said he is not willing to do that, so the two parties are at an impasse. I believe Dallas will end up releasing Carr sometime around June 1 in order to save $ 8 million against the salary cap.

Ronald Leary was a huge part of the offensive line that played so well last season. However, the signing of undrafted free agent La'el Collins opens the door for Dallas to trade Leary. Moving him would open up a spot for Collins, as well as getting something nice in return.
