The Denver Broncos have a QB they like in Brock Osweiler, but he’s currently blocked by one of the greatest to ever play the game in future Hall of Famer, Peyton Manning. However, it appears that if the Broncos could get out of their marriage with Manning, they’d be willing to pull the trigger as according to reports, Denver attempted to move Manning to the Houston Texans over the offseason.
Broncos reportedly tried to trade Peyton Manning to Texans, which may have triggered the no-trade clause in his deal http://t.co/RVp28o7J6c

This would’ve been a terrible maneuver by the Broncos, especially considering Manning restructured his deal in order to help the organization make necessary moves, including signing WR Demaryius Thomas to a long-term deal. We clearly will never know exactly what went down here, as the Broncos have already released a statement completely denying the report from 94.1 FM Denver’s Benjamin Allbright that circulated earlier today.

Going on the idea that Denver indeed tried to send Manning to Houston, either the Texans are borderline insane, or the Broncos asking price was simply outrageous, because Manning would be a perfect fit for a team laden with talent on both sides of the ball, yet lacking the quarterback they need to make a true run at the AFC South.
Being that Manning is going to be the Broncos’ QB in 2015 barring injury, John Elway and company will deny this until the cows come home, so we’ll never know exactly how close we came to seeing the Osweiler era start a bit earlier than anyone could’ve imagined.
