The New York Jets have had a very good season and are currently in the hunt for a playoff spot. They made a lot of good moves during the last offseason, and it will be interesting to see what they do this year. Here are five players that they should consider cutting in the 2016 offseason.

The Jets are already paying a lot of money to their wide receivers, and could look for cheaper options to fill out their depth chart. They can find a young player or a cheap veteran, and would save money with the move.

4. Jeff Cumberland

Cumberland has not had much of a role in the offense, and this is another move that could help save money. There are other players who would be a much better fit.

3. Dion Bailey

Bailey is young and inexpensive, but he hasn't had a great 2016 season. He can certainly improve with more experience, but the Jets have very good options ahead of him in the secondary.

2. Antonio Cromartie

The team gave Cromartie a lot of money this offseason, but his age and injuries have slowed him down. He still has playmaking ability at cornerback, but releasing him would clear a good amount of cap space.

1. Geno Smith

Smith could be a good backup quarterback, and it might not hurt to let him try to prove himself for another year. However, he did bring unwanted attention to the locker room early in the season, and it may be better for him to get a fresh start elsewhere.

Brandon Marshall Tells Rich Eisen He Hasn't Spoken To Jay Cutler

During a recent appearance on ' The Rich Eisen Show', former Chicago Bears and current New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall was asked about his relationship with his old quarterback, Jay Cutler. Marshall, who has zero chill, replied that he had not spoken to Cutler in "two years." Naturally, Eisen was shocked and mentioned that they were teammates just a season ago. Marshall essentially confirmed that they were not talking off the field during his last year in Chicago, but ultimately wished Cutler well.
