NFL Should Be Ashamed Of The Los Angeles Rams

The St. Louis Rams were ripped away from Missouri and railroaded into California. While league commissioner Roger Goodell thinks he’s struck gold with the Los Angeles Rams, he’s done nothing more than amplify the NFL‘s recklessness and hypocrisy.

The league is already ridiculed for its injustices. Players like Vontaze Burfict and Adam “Pacman” Jones commit dirty plays and are penalized with short suspensions and fines, while others like Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson have off-field issues — things that shouldn’t count more than on-field issues — and are punished more severely. Where’s the sense in that?

The league wants to promote safety — you know, like the “no more” commercials that were shoved in our faces — yet, beer distributors can be its biggest sponsors. That has no justification.

Now, we’re forced to watch the falsified “football is family” commercials. Does this league really believe in family values? There are unjust punishments, alcohol sponsors and fans forced to suffer their team’s departure — and the league wants to preach family?

Taking the Rams away from St. Louis and making it seem unexpected is despicable. Obviously, this is done for the money — just like the beer commercials are, even though Goodell and others want to turn right around erase the NFL’s reprehensible actions. They’ve been so eager to give LA a team, that they completely turned their backs away from their main moneymakers: the fans. The NFL is already a multi-billion dollar league. There’s no need to push the fans aside for a few more dollars.

This goes to show, Goodell and this league don’t care about you. Yeah, it’s safe to say you already know that — but you shouldn’t forget and be okay with it. Supporters need a voice, and whether Goodell likes it or not, the people of St. Louis were supporters. Treating them like trash on the side of the road is unforgivable.

The hypocrisy is sickening. It’s not okay to beat your wives, but it’s okay to promote alcohol — one of the very things that encourages violence. It’s not okay to hit your children, but it’s okay for other violent players to go without being punished as severely. It’s not okay to do anything that misrepresents the league, but it’s okay for the league to swindle people and disparage the fans.

Everyone loves football, but no one should love this league’s arrogance. It’s not okay to chase money when you’re overflowing with it, and it’s certainly revolting to disregard your biggest supporters. St. Louis deserved better. It’s a shame they’ll go forgotten, lost in the NFL’s abyss of mistakes.
