  • Penguins goalie Tom Barrasso stopped Washington CapitalsMichal Pivonka on a penalty shot in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals; Pittsburgh lost this game by a score of 6-2 (the Penguins ended up winning the series over the Capitals in seven games, 4-3)

Pittsburgh went on to play the New Jersey Devils in the Eastern Conference Semifinals losing the series in five games.

1993

This was during Game 5 of the Patrick Division Final between the Penguins and the New York Islanders.  The Islanders won the series in seven games, 4-3.
