Philadelphia Flyers Fans Show True Character By Classlessly Throwing Stuff Onto The Ice

By Anthony Blake

Go ahead and file this one in the zero percent surprised category, as Philadelphia Flyers fans were penalized for throwing stuff onto the ice in Monday’s blowout Game 3 loss to the Washington Capitals.

After receiving bracelets for attending the game, these same fans who once booed Santa Claus saw fit to turn these freebies into projectiles following a nasty scrum on the ice. This ensued after Pierre-Edouard Bellemare delivered a clearly illegal hit on Capitals defenseman Dmitry Orlov who went headfirst into the boards.

Filthadelphia is known to be belligerent and unreasonable, sure, but their longtime public address announcer was having none of it.

Even one of the dirtiest players in the league in Alexander Ovechkin and known antagonist Wayne Simmonds had enough of Philly fans and their petty behavior.

Whenever the players show ire towards the fans for outrageous conduct you know things have gone too far. Though the game finished 6-1 in favor of Washington and the Caps are now up 3-0 in the series, unfortunately one more, sure to be chippy game must be played to complete the sweep. Here’s hoping it doesn’t turn ugly and lead to more behavior like this.
