In a game that will gather very little national media attention, the Irish are trying to spice things up. Notre Dame will wear their green uniforms, the same ones that they wore during last year’s victory over Army from Yankee Stadium and a new looked helmet against Maryland on Saturday.

I know several fans, including a lot of the oldtimers will not like them, but they are starting to grow on me. The shamrock looks awesome and I really like the gold look to the helmets. It is certainly something different compared to the regular gold helmets that the Irish flaunt on a weekly basis.
I really like the green uniforms from last year as well. They looked really sharp and were a great feature with the gold pants. Hopefully the new helmets and the green jerseys will bring the Irish their seventh victory of the season on Saturday against a pretty weak Maryland squad.
