NFL football is a game full of emotions.  The Philadelphia Eagles had some mojo after winning back to back weeks.  The mojo was squashed when the Giants rallied to beat the New England Patriots in the last minute behind the strong performance of Eli Manning.

I had a feeling about this game.  Almost every “so called expert” predicted a Eagles win.  I was not not buying into it.  I am the same guy who wrote an article entitled, “The Eagles Will Win The NFC East”, last week.  I was not expecting a Giant win against New England.

My prediction for the game last night was semi-true.  I thought the Birds would lose, McCoy would get his (not at the pace of the last two weeks) and Vick would pass a lot (I predicted 40+ attempts…….he had 38).  The Bears scored more than I thought.

Two things really bugged me about this game.  First, Michael Vick.  I could visibly tell he was frustrated with the amount of times he was being hit.  Suck it up, man.  Play the position and score the damn football.  Do not worry about the referees or getting dirty.

Secondly, the defensive scheme was horrendous.  The Eagles did not pressure Jay Cutler at all.  They needed to bring blitzes and they rushed four, playing zone coverage.  Why?  Who the hell knows.

Side note:  Brian Urlacher is a great football player.  He had an amazing game.  The Eagles had no match for his tenacity.  DeSean Jackson has come up small, all year.  Juan Castillo needs a bye week, every week.  The man can make no adjustments.

I am sick over this game.  I wanted to be wrong.  Now, we will see if the Eagles pack it in mentally.  Knowing the Giants handled their business, they sure did last night.
