In last week’s Monday night loss to the Chicago Bears, Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel suffered perhaps the most painful injury possible to every guy on this planet.
He lacerated his groin. Specifically, well, he injured his valuables. The injury occurred when the cleats of a Chicago Bears defensive lineman caught in Asante’s, um, middle.
When asked about the pain, Asante called it the worst pain that he has ever experienced.
Incredibly, he returned to the game on Monday night, despite having to leave for the locker room at one point.
He did not need stitches for the injury, although he was a limited participant in practice on Thursday. He was a full participant on Friday and will not miss this week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.
I have to say, by the way, that I am impressed with Asante’s toughness. For a player who has been a major pain to deal with this season, it’s great that he is still going to be able to play against the Cardinals in two days.
