  • Dan Bylsma became the fifth fastest coach to win 100 games, after the Pens defeated the Los Angeles Kings, 2-1

2010

  • Jordan Staal played in his 329th consecutive game for the Penguins, the most by any player (his streak broke a team record set by Ron Schock)

2007

  • Jordan Staal became youngest player (18 years, 153 days) in NHL history to record a hat-trick when he scored three goals, including the overtime winner, against the Toronto Maple Leafs

2003

  • Pittsburgh obtained Mikael Samuelsson, Rico Fata, Richard Lintner and Joel Bouchard from the New York Rangers for Alex Kovalev, Dan Lacouture, Mike Wilson and Janne Laukkanen

2001

  • Alex Kovalev scored three goals against the New Jersey Devils, for his second consecutive game with a hat trick

1993

  • Tom Barrasso stopped 30 shots from the New York Rangers for his sixth shutout with the Pens

1990

  • Rob Brown scored once each on Los Angeles Kings goalies Kelly Hrudey and Mario Gosselin and into an empty net for his sixth hat trick
  • Tomas Sandstrom scored on a penalty shot against Wendell Young (it was the fourth goal surrendered on a penalty shot for the Pens)

1967

  • Emily Roberts of Belle Vernon won a contest to name Pittsburgh’s new NHL team: the Penguins
