As each day passes by, rumors of Hulk Hogan wrestling at WrestleMania XXX get more juicy. With that being said, will fans accept him?
Ever since leaving TNA Wrestling, there’s been a lot of speculation that Hogan is interested in returning to the WWE. Not only does he want to return, but he wants a match at WrestleMania XXX. Can his 60-year-old body hold up much longer? Will fans accept his return to the ring?
Hogan isn’t as popular as he was back in the ’80s or even earlier in the ’00s for that matter. When Hogan returned last time to face the Rock, fans went nuts for him. He was supposed to be the heel, but fans cheered for him anyway. He wrestled for a few months more and made sporadic appearances for the company up until 2006.
Hogan’s image kind of turned negative once the left the WWE. His son getting involved in a serious car accident and the ugly divorce from his wife made Hogan look like a bad guy in real life. Not to mention, his divorce cost him a lot of money. He then went to TNA, but left earlier this year.
Unlike the Rock, Hogan is old, and I’m not sure if every fan will welcome him back so easily. Will fans want to see him wrestle? My guess is that a match against John Cena would be perfect, but some fans might boo both of them. Hopefully within a few month’s time, we will know for certain if Hogan is wrestling at WrestleMania XXX or not. I wouldn’t mind seeing him one more time because he was crucial to pro wrestling’s global popularity.
