WWE: Is Brock Lesnar Targeting Randy Orton?

Paul Heyman tweeted something interesting the other day which hints at Brock Lesnar facing Randy Orton in the future.

Since Orton has become the first WWE World Heavyweight Champion, he has been on everyone’s radar. This is a huge push for Orton as nobody has been a unified champion since Chris Jericho won the WWF and WCW Titles back in December 2001.

Lesnar was the last Undisputed WWE Champion before the company created the World Heavyweight Championship. This was back in 2002 where the roster was split into two shows and had two respective champions. It wasn’t until recently that the rosters started to merge and now we only have one champion ruling the company.

Lesnar could wrestle Orton at the Royal Rumble, which would be a mouthwatering contest. These two were rumored to face each other back in SummerSlam 2012 until Triple H butted in with his huge nose. Now that Lesnar has defeated Triple H and CM Punk, Orton should be his next target.

The only problem I have with Lesnar challenging Orton is that it would be too predictable if it was for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. Lesnar will have to lose the match since he only wrestles part-time. There’s no chance the WWE will let Lesnar be the champion if he only appears for a few nights in a year.

The only reason they gave the Rock a chance to be champion was because he agreed to at least appear on Raw every week until WrestleMania 29. Lesnar, on the other hand, has a much lighter schedule. I would like to see Lesnar facing Orton one day since they only faced each other back in 2002. My only gripe is that it might have a predictable outcome if it were to be a title match.
