No More Indy Guys To Be Signed By WWE

WWE has finally put an end to the wrestling business. They are officially an entertainment business. Some will say they have been entertainment for a while now, but that’s not the case.

WWE has had a track record of singing some Indy guys in the past. The days of learning your craft on the independent scene and then making your way to WWE developmental to learn the WWE way are sadly over.

Triple H has done some good things in his short stint as a WWE suit, but giving the top two guys (Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards) on Indy scene a shot then letting them go all because he does not see the talent in any more Indy guys is just wrong. Instead he will create his own at the WWE Performance Center.

Triple H will be taking over WWE many years from now, but with the thought process that he has with not signing those kinds of guys and creating them instead is just plain scary. If WWE stopped signing Indy guys we would not have CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Antonio Cesaro and any other superstars from before the 2010 era.

The WWE developmental has produced some good talents like Wade Barrett, Dolph Ziggler and The Wyatts. Even with that argument, can you really take any pro sports athlete and turn them into a WWE Superstar?

Maybe in one out of four cases yes, but your chances of signing an Indy guy increase because they have honed their craft for years before making it to WWE.

This could stop many new guys from wanting to start wrestling (mainly outside of Europe); because WWE is the place to get your name out. Many may have the passion but ending your career in the indy scene is not what you’re looking for… Sadly if Triple H does choose not to sing “indy guys” then I see many people stop trying to get signed by the WWE.
