“The Beast vs. “The Animal,” Brock Lesnar vs. Batista on the “grandest Stage of them all” (WrestleMania 30) should be a main event that all can be okay with. This is one everyone will look to their friend and say “this is going to be good.”
To me that is what a main event should be about for WrestleMania. Now this writing is before Royal Rumble so I have no clue who will be champion or be the winner of the 2014 Royal Rumble match. With that being said, I think they can pull off the headline match in the main event for a couple of reasons.
1. You have two marquee guys who you throw out a name and 90 percent of people know who both of them are. Brock Lesnar would outweigh Batista because of his UFC Stint.
2. It might increase the buys for WrestleMania with Lesnar being in the main event and the casual or hardcore MMA fans wanting to see him once again.
3. It makes creative sense to have both guys in there. Most likely Batista will be world champion and Brock Lesnar has already said he is the No. 1 contender. Bam, storyline set up right there.
If these are WWE‘s plans then I would have no problem with it. Yes there are guys who should be in the main event spotlight (Shield, Daniel Bryan and CM Punk), but as of right now their characters are not placed in that spot. Next year maybe, but with current storylines the way they are it would not make a whole lot of sense just to have someone come out of left field to be in that spot.
