WWE Rumors: No Way Hulk Hogan Has Match at WrestleMania 31
It’s only October, but WrestleMania 31 rumors are already running wild, brother.
Hulk Hogan is rumored to appear and possibly wrestle at WWE‘s biggest event next April. Although you can take a Hulkster appearance to the bank, don’t hold your breath for the industry’s biggest icon to get back in the squared circle for some real action.
The internet has been rampant with rumors for weeks about Hogan wanting one last match at WM. Supposedly, he wants to work with John Cena, in a match that would pit two top generational stars against each other.
While you can’t hate on the Hulkster for having a dream, at this point, his thought of one match is really nothing more than a fantasy.
Hogan is too old (61) and way too beat up from 30 years of in-ring action/multiple back surgeries. We’re talking about a guy who had his last decent run a decade ago. The ship has sailed for Hogan in the ring as a singles performer.
The only thing that could realistically happen is Hogan getting thrown into a big name tag match. Maybe, if he were put in a situation where he had to do little ring work, he could pull off one more match (where he basically just does the ear taunt, the big boot and maybe the leg drop).
But anyone who saw him attempt to wrestle a couple years back in TNA, knows that his tank is on E.
Hulk Hogan is the Babe Ruth of sports entertainment. Hulkamania will never be duplicated. You can argue that Hogan deserves one last match to receive a ‘proper’ sendoff from the WWE Universe. If anyone deserves one last match just because of their impact on the business, it’s the Hulkster.
But there’s just no way around it — the match would be terrible. Hogan can’t go anymore, and he hasn’t been able to go at a high level for nearly two decades.
