As someone who has watched all 4 of the Arizona Cardinals preseason games, QB Max Hall has definitely staked his claim for the #2 position at the quarterback spot. The debate has been recently about Derek Anderson and Matt Leinart but I think the debate should be about Max Hall. This 24 year old out of BYU has been impressive to say the least this preseason.

Last night against the Washington Redskins, Max Hall led the Cardinals for three series. The Arizona Cardinals scored on each one, 2 touchdowns and a field goal. Hall ended the night 7 of 9 for 126 yards and a 118.8 passer rating. It’s not just his stats which are impressive, it’s his command of the field with little experience.

In the games he’s played in that I’ve watched, he has very good pocket awareness, he can make nearly any throw. Not to mention that he’s got some very good mobility. Last night scrambling for 13 yards and then running in a score from 6 yards out. He is very precise in his throws and has a very nice delivery with the ball.

If I were the Cardinals, I’d cut or trade Leinart(who looked pathetic last night) and start Derek Anderson, moving Max Hall to the #2 backup position. Let Hall sit a year and see if he beats out Anderson to start next season. I really like the way this kid Hall moves the ball, and I’d have to say he moved the Cardinals offense the best of any quarterback this preseason on the roster. If the Cardinals are foolish enough to release him, he will land with a team once he hits waivers, this kid has talent and will eventually be a starter in the NFL if not for the Cardinals, some team.
