Week 2 of the NFL season is in the books, so what were the top headlines of week 2? The Dallas Cowboys are not very good right now. Matt Schaub had a terrific day against the Washington Redskins. Michael Vick has already replaced Kevin Kolb in Philadelphia. Jahvid Best is looking like Jahvid Beast for the Detroit Lions and is Brett Favre finished in Minnesota?

The Dallas Cowboys are 0-2. The Dallas Cowboys were many people’s favorite to represent the NFC in this years Super Bowl and it remains to be seen if they will even make the playoffs right now. This week they have to take on the high flying Houston Texans who are 2-0. They won games both on the ground and through the air this season. If the Cowboys fall to 0-3 this week, just how much more time does Wade Phillips get?

Matt Schaub throws for nearly 1/10th of a mile against the Washington Redskins. In week one, the Houston Texans defeated the Indianapolis Colts for just the second time in franchise history and Matt Schaub only passed for 107 yards. He made up for it last Sunday though by toss the football 497 yards and accomplishing something that has only been done 4 times in 50 years.

Michael Vick becomes the starting quarterback in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Eagles fans love affair with Kevin Kolb lasted only a few series of the first game, by halftime they had a new favorite to root for after Kolb was knocked out of the game with a concussion. Michael Vick has provided a spark for the Philadelphia Eagles offense. Kolb will now be the back-up for Vick while making 12 million dollars this season while holding a clipboard. Not bad work if you can find it.

Detroit Lions RB Javhid Best is becoming a beast. The speedy running back was compared to Lions great Barry Sanders last week, I’m not sure if that is a fair comparison but Jahvid Best is scoring at will after two weeks and looks to be in the lead for offensive rookie of the year.

Brett Favre looks like he is done. Brett Favre looked horrible last week against the Miami Dolphins. He committed 4 turnovers and just doesn’t seem to have the fire anymore. The 40 year old veteran looks 40 years old. The Vikings are now 0-2 and facing a brutal schedule in the next 5 games. You have to wonder if Favre will last the entire year under center.
