After being released by the Seattle Seahawks last week after Seattle acquired former Buffalo Bills RB Marshawn Lynch, RB Julius Jones was signed this afternoon by the New Orleans Saints which are seriously depleted at the running back position. Jones spent three seasons with the Seattle Seahawks after coming over from the Dallas Cowboys.

Jones has rushed for over 1,000 yards once in his career, (2006) and is a serviceable receiver out of the backfield. The 5’10″ 210 pound product out of Notre Dame is playing in his 7th season in the NFL. Only twice in his seven year career has Jones carried the ball more than 250 carries.

New Orleans is struggling to add depth and find productive running backs while they are dealing with some key injuries in their backfield.
