On Wednesday, the NFL released the 2012 preseason schedule for all 32 teams. The St. Louis Rams were supposed to take a huge step forward in 2011, but ended up doing the opposite after quarterback Sam Bradford went down yet again with an injury. After a blockbuster trade, the Rams now have a stockpile of draft picks to use to make their team better in 2012.

Here’s a look at the Rams’ 2012 preseason schedule:

Week 1: at Indianapolis Colts

Week 2: Kansas City Chiefs

Week 3: at Dallas Cowboys

Week 4: Baltimore Ravens

These games don’t mean as much as the regular season because most teams tend to only play their starters for the first half at the most.

The Rams displayed their faith in Bradford by trading the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft, giving up the chance to draft Baylor’s Robert Griffin III. Now it’s up to Bradford to prove he’s worth that move and that won’t be easy after St. Louis’ top receiver, Brandon Lloyd, bolted for New England via free agency.

To top things off, Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has been suspended indefinitely, so new head coach Jeff Fisher will have to find a suitable replacement in the meantime. Things could get ugly in St. Louis, but they could just as easily take a turn for the better in 2012.
