It’s pretty safe to say that most of us were shocked when we learned that Terrell Owens was signed by the Seattle Seahawks. Now as training camp comes to an end, NFL rumors are  that Owens has done great and could very well be starting at the wide receiver position.

Owens will play in his first game with the Seahawks against the Denver Broncos on Saturday. This game will be his first NFL game since Week 15 of the 2010 season, when he was on the Cincinnati Bengals. Most people don’t remember, but while Owens played for the Bengals he actually out shined Chad Johnson. The main reasons teams shy away from him isn’t because of his skill, but the problems he brings to the locker room. Now that Owens has more of a need to play football, he will have a huge impact on the offensive side of the ball for the Seahawks.

While the Seahawks have quite a few rookie receivers that they can choose from, having a veteran like Owens on their roster would only enhance their offensive abilities. With Sidney Rice‘s injury and the coaching staff worrying about his all-around health, the door is wide open for Owens to grab a starting position.

Look for Owens to prove what he still has left in the tank when on the field tomorrow. His athletic abilities are off the charts and just what the Seahawks need to become more explosive.  As long as he can keep his personal issues away from the team, I’m pretty sure he will excel any time the ball is thrown his way.
