Paulinho Proving To Be A Steal For Tottenham Hotspurs

Arguably the best player in the Brazilian top flight last season, along with Neymar, and by far the best player at this summer’s Confederations Cup, Paulinho has taken the English Premier League by storm.

Considering the type of money that Tottenham Hotspurs has spent improving their team in this summer’s transfer window, spending 17 million on Paulinho may be the steal of the summer. The Brazilian International has been, by far, the best player for Spurs this season, continuing the form that prompted the top clubs in Europe to battle for the midfielder’s signature.

Only Yaya Toure of Manchester City has been as inspirational as Paulinho as a midfielder in the Premiership so far this season. Like the Ivorian, the former Corinthians man is a box-to-box midfielder who shows the versatility to affect the game in all three areas of the pitch. Paulinho plays with tenacity, determination and flair, mixing the new era of Brazil’s style of play with the former Selecao greats.

If the Spurs are to challenge the Premier League title and remain contenders for a Champions League place, Paulinho must continue his incredible run of form. Spurs manager Andres Villas-Boas must be ecstatic with the play of his new recruit, especially since he looks to be the most outstanding player of the season thus far.

As the Brazilian looks to cement his place in next summer’s World Cup squad, he will continue to show his appetite for tackling, scoring and inspiring his teammates. The sky is truly the limit for the Brazilian superstar. Spurs supporters may not forget about Gareth Bale and his departure to Real Madrid, but Paulinho is definitely making the transition without Bale a lot easier for the London based club.
