UEFA Champions League Preview: Barcelona – AC Milan

Two of the better teams in the world will face each other in a decisive encounter where the winner will surely take a giant leap towards a qualification place.

Barcelona will host AC Milan at Camp Nou in a great match between two historic sides that usually offer very entertaining encounters. This time, the two sides are the ones sitting at the top of the standings in Group H of the UEFA Champions League so the game appears to be decisive.

Despite the fact that Lionel Messi is the undisputed star of the team and that Neymar was the biggest signing of the past summer, no striker is playing better than Alexis Sánchez. The Chilean striker has found the back of the net in three consecutive games and he’s the second scorer of the team behind Messi, but his success in front of the goal could create a lot of troubles for Milan’s defensive line.

The Italians, on the other side, will rely heavily on Mario Balotelli. The former Manchester City striker has been deadly since joining Milan in January this year and he will be the focal point of the team’s attacks at Camp Nou where his experience and set of skill could be decisive if the Serie A outfit are able to have some spaces going forward.

Prediction: Barcelona 2-1 AC Milan

Barcelona should be able to come out on top. They’re used to control the tempo of the game at their own turf and it should be no different this time against a Milan side that has struggled to start the year. The hosts should be able to score a couple of times on their way to a convincing win.
