Zlatan Ibrahimovic: With WC Dream gone, Focus Back to Club is Mandatory

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a decent brace against Portugal this past Wednesday in a WC qualifier, but his solo performance was not enough against the hat trick by Cristiano Ronaldo which allowed Portugal to advance to the WC finals. Meanwhile, Sweden‘s dreams of participating have been dashed.

The big Swede is one of the best strikers in the world, but his performance was never going to be enough against a squad of players who are led by the very best in the world at the moment in Ronaldo.

Regardless, Ibra is still the very best for his country and club, PSG of the French Ligue 1. Here, he has scored hat trick after hat trick to lead his team to many victories during his two years. In fact, with the teammates he has available, they can even think about advancing very far in the Champions League. Last season, they made it to the quarterfinals but ended up losing on away goals to Barcelona.

Ibrahimovic needs to be the true professional that he is and focus on his club now that there is no chance of his country participating in Brazil next summer. If he does this, PSG can easily win the Ligue 1 ahead of Monaco and perhaps make it to the final four in the UCL. Who knows? Maybe PSG can match up against Real Madrid in one of the knockout rounds, and he can gain the upper hand on Ronaldo at that level.

Then again, we should remember that it is not about revenge, but only success when it comes to soccer.
